Junior Aviation Maintenance Engineer

The OpportunityÂ
Infravision is seeking a Junior Aviation Maintenance Engineer to support the maintenance, reliability, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of our heavy-lift multirotor UAV fleet.
In this hands-on engineering role, you will help maintain the operational readiness of more than 20 aircraft, coordinate maintenance activities with internal teams and external technical partners, and use operational data to improve aircraft performance and reliability. Working closely with engineering, aviation, and field operations teams, you will support the continued development of our fleet as flight hours and operational demands increase.

What You’ll DoÂ
- Fleet Maintenance & Readiness:Execute and coordinate routine maintenance, faultfinding, inspections, and repairs across a fleet of more than 20 heavy-lift multirotor aircraft, working closely with Operations to maintain aircraft availability and reliability.
- Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate technical maintenance activities and repairs between internal personnel, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and external service partners, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Fleet Documentation & Asset Management:Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, component replacements, and equipment histories within Infravision's asset and compliance management systems.
- System Upgrades & Integration:Support the integration, testing, and deployment of hardware and firmware upgrades across the multirotor fleet in collaboration with engineering and aviation teams.
- Reliability & Data Analysis:Monitor aircraft flight hours, post-flight data, and maintenance trends to identify recurring faults, assess component lifecycles, and support improvements to preventive maintenance schedules and operating procedures.
- Safety & Compliance:Ensure maintenance and repair activities follow applicable aviation regulations, safety standards, company procedures, and equipment requirements. Identify and escalate equipment risks, recurring faults, and critical technical issues to engineering teams and regional operations.
- Technical Collaboration & Communication:Work with flight operations, software engineers, hardware engineers, fleet managers, technical contractors, and suppliers to resolve system integration challenges and communicate aircraft readiness, repair timelines, and operational impacts.
- Field & Project Support:Travel to project locations as required to provide onsite technical support, emergency troubleshooting, and aircraft repairs. Assist with equipment preparation, parts packing, system testing, flight activity coordination, and professional customer interactions.
- Professional Development:Work alongside senior engineers, fleet managers, and operators to develop technical expertise in Infravision's proprietary aircraft systems, progressively supporting more complex diagnostics, reliability analysis, and engineering activities.
What We’re Looking ForÂ
- Education: Bachelor's degree or graduate qualification in Engineering required. Coursework or experience in aerospace engineering, aerostructures, or avionics preferred.
- Practical Engineering Experience: Hands-on technical experience with aircraft, unmanned systems, electromechanical equipment, or comparable engineering projects. Experience with DARPA Design, Build, Fly or Formula SAE programs desirable.
- Maintenance & Fleet Management: Experience as a technician or fleet manager, including asset lifecycle management, maintenance coordination, equipment reliability, or related technical responsibilities.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and diagnostic capabilities, with the ability to investigate equipment faults, interpret technical information, and develop practical solutions.
- Systems Thinking: Ability to understand interconnected hardware, software, maintenance, and operational processes and identify improvements that increase efficiency and reliability.
- Ownership & Prioritization: Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently, learning new technologies, and prioritizing competing responsibilities in a fast-moving environment.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, operators, external suppliers, technical partners, and customers.
- Safety & Professionalism: Strong commitment to aviation safety, regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and sound technical judgment.
- Travel & Flexibility: Ability and willingness to travel throughout the United States and internationally, including Canada, India, and Australia, to support maintenance, field operations, and project requirements.
