Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic ( Working on the Lube Team)
Where will you work: Onsite – K2, Esterhazy, Saskatchewan
Starting wage $63.56 as per local CBA.
Shift Schedule: 9/80
To perform the duties of Industrial Mechanic safely and efficiently in an assigned area on an assigned shift.
What you’ll do?
Inspect, install, adjust, and maintain mechanical machines and equipment on site.
Dismantle, repair, and assemble plant equipment in line with manufacturers' specifications and recommended standards.
Safely operate specific units of mobile equipment including overhead and mobile crane.
Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and components.
Display full knowledge and use of drawings, prints, sketches, and parts manuals.
Display full knowledge precision maintenance tools.
Operate all equipment serviced or repaired.
Pass all related training classes.
Work from ladder, platform, staging scaffold, swing stage and mobile equipment basket.
If required must be prepared to train and handle firefighting duties as a member of the shift fire crew.
Interpret and carry out written or oral instructions, and to make written reports as required.
Diligently adhere to all relevant legal environmental requirements.
Diligently ensure that all relevant OH&S requirements and in-house safety regulations are complied with.
Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
1. Lubrication ExecutionÂ
- Apply lubricants (oils, greases, specialty fluids) to machinery according to schedulesÂ
- Use proper quantities, methods, and tools (manual, automated, or centralized systems)Â
- Use ultrasonic grease gun for specific applicationsÂ
- Perform oil changes, grease replenishment, and system flushingÂ
- Prevent over‑lubrication and under‑lubricationÂ
2. Lubricant ManagementÂ
- Select the correct lubricant for each application based on Job Plans and OEM specsÂ
- Store, handle, and transfer lubricants contamination‑freeÂ
- Maintain Lubricant Stock and InventoryÂ
- Label and color‑code lubricants and equipmentÂ
- Track lubricant usage and inventoryÂ
3. Condition Monitoring & InspectionsÂ
- Conduct routine machine inspections during lubrication roundsÂ
- Check oil levels, grease conditions, leaks, filters, breathers, and sealsÂ
- Identify early signs of wear, overheating, vibration, or contaminationÂ
- Take basic readings (temperature, noise, visual condition)Â
4. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance SupportÂ
- Follow PM schedules tied to lubrication tasksÂ
- Support PdM programs by identifying lubrication‑related failuresÂ
- Help extend asset life and improve equipment uptimeÂ
- Report findings and recommend corrective actionsÂ
5. Equipment Care & Reliability PracticesÂ
- Maintain and clean lubrication points (fittings, ports, lines)Â
- Install or maintain breathers, sight glasses, and filtersÂ
- Help eliminate contamination (water, dirt, particulates)Â
- Support best practices such as precision lubricationÂ
6. Documentation & ReportingÂ
- Record lubrication work completed (CMMS or excel spreadsheets)Â
- Document machine conditions and anomaliesÂ
- Track lubrication intervals and changesÂ
- Communicate issues clearly with maintenance, operations, and reliability teamsÂ
7. Safety & Environmental ComplianceÂ
- Follow site safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, confined space, hot work awareness)Â
- Handle and dispose of lubricants and waste according to environmental regulationsÂ
- Prevent spills and respond appropriately if they occurÂ
Must HavesÂ
- Valid Red Seal Journyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certificationÂ
- Valid Class 5 driver's licenseÂ

What you’ll need:
​A recognized, valid, Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic's Certificate.
Full knowledge of the safe utilization and care of power and hand tools.
Full knowledge of cutting and welding practices.
The ability to discern the state of mechanical condition of machines and equipment and take appropriate action.
Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug and alcohol testing.
Must be authorized to work in Canada.
