The Wellness Advisor is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety of YMCA members utilizing the strength and cardiovascular areas.  As a key member of the wellness team, the Wellness Advisor conducts a series of retention appointments for new members, utilizing designated software to engage and support ongoing physical activity and to assist members in achieving their wellness goals through YMCA membership. 

The Wellness Advisor supports members throughout the wellness onboarding process by working one-on-one during wellness appointments, connecting members to appropriate wellness programs, and providing ongoing follow-up.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age. 

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  

• Must have skills in relationship building, being empathic, and communication in order to perform successfully in this role. 

• Must have above average knowledge of exercise science and wellness principles.  Prior (1-2 years) strength/ conditioning experience is required (3+ years preferred).
