POSITION SUMMARY: World Relief seeks aResettlement Coordinator to provide case management services to support the resettlement of newly arrived refugees through the Program for Initial Resettlement (PIR) program, as funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement. The Resettlement Coordinator will carry a personal case load, for which they have primary service responsibility during the 30-90 day R&P period. They will also provide case management support for individuals enrolled in other state and federally funded programs. This position is part time at 20 hours per week and limited term, with an anticipated end date of September 30, 2027. Continued employment may be possible and is dependent on continued federal funding. This is a Hybrid role- up to 30% remote, with the flexibility to be 100% in office when neededÂ
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide multi-faceted case management services to newly arrived refugee and SIV clients.Â
Provide essential orientation to life in the United States to promote successful community integrationÂ
Coordinate permanent housing and furnishings for newly arrived refugeesÂ
Develop service plans and coordinate services with other service providersÂ
Assist newly arrived refugees to access medical care, education for children, and English for adultsÂ
Provide transportation for refugee clients to/from core appointmentsÂ
Provide cultural orientation classes for newly arrived refugeesÂ
Assist refugees to apply for and obtain public benefits, including FNS, Medicaid and Cash AssistanceÂ
Administrative duties including case noting, maintenance of case files, and use of state and WR databasesÂ
Communication with community partners and/or volunteers as relevant to carrying out core case management servicesÂ
Collaboration with case workers in other WR Durham program to facilitate employment, financial self-sufficiency, and holistic health and wellnessÂ
Provide similar case management services for clients enrolled in other federal and state programs, as PIR caseload allowsÂ
Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or required by ORR program guidelinesÂ

BA/BS in relevant fields such as Social Work, Public Health, or similar degree. Masters preferred. Â

Strong cross cultural competency with ability to work with clients from widely varied cultural backgrounds, e.g. Afrikaner, Afghan, Congolese and Syrian.Â
At least one year case management experience in social work settingÂ
Flexible schedule for occasional work during early mornings, late evenings or weekendsÂ
Verbal and written fluency in English languageÂ
Fluent in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, and Outlook; skilled in Google Suite products, including Google Drive; prefer Dynamics or other CRM experienceÂ
Strong verbal and written communication skillsÂ
Passionate, dynamic, and good at improvisingÂ
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize in a fast paced and fluid environmentÂ

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong preference for candidates who are fluent in at least one language spoken refugees in Durham: Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Swahili, Tigrinya, or Urdu.Â
