The Role

Veeva is looking for a Senior Back-end Engineer to join our team in Beijing. This engineer will be responsible for China CRM's applications development of our SaaS cloud products.

What You’ll Do

SaaS platform architecture design, improvement and implementation, technology selection
Analyze business requirements and provide business implementation solutions
Work with front-end engineers, product managers and QA engineers to ensure product quality and development progress
Based on the understanding of the business, improve the user experience of the product and use technology to drive business development
Design and deploy LLM-based AI Agents, integrating Agent capabilities into core business scenarios to boost product intelligence.
Build core Agent capabilities (Function Calling/Tool Use, memory, planning, and multi-Agent collaboration); build and optimize RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and related workflows.
Tracking and researching cutting-edge technologies and applying them to the company's product development (including LLMs and AI Agents)
Needs to use python for development

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of software development experience.
Proven experience in SaaS platform software design and development.
Demonstrated experience in designing large-scale distributed systems.
Hands-on project experience with AI Agents or LLM applications; proficiency in at least one mainstream framework (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen).
Familiarity with key technologies including RAG, prompt engineering, Function Calling, and vector databases. Knowledge of Agent ecosystem protocols like MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of common data structures and algorithms.
Proficient in relational database design and development.
Deep understanding of object-oriented design (OOD) principles.
Mastery of at least one mainstream programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
Familiarity with web development frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, Spring).
Passionate about technology, logically minded, optimistic, and adept at collaborating across cross-functional teams.
