Thuma is looking for a Lead Barista to join our new Cherry Creek team. Reporting to the Store Manager, this position will play a pivotal role in the seamless functioning and overall success of Thuma at Cherry Creek.
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Lead Barista to be the heart and soul of our cafe experience. As our Lead Thuma Barista, you'll be an integral part of creating a warm, inviting atmosphere, serving exceptional coffee, and providing top-notch customer service and upholding standards within the cafe team.
Key Responsibilities
- Be an extension of the Thuma retail team and create an environment where people like to spend time.
- Manage cafe inventory, assist in placing orders, and monitoring stock levels in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Ensure compliance of local health regulations are closely followed.
- Oversee daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Mentor baristas, providing guidance and training.
- Ensure exceptional coffee quality through proper brewing techniques and recipe adherence.
- Create and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with management to optimize cafe efficiency and performance.
- Uphold Thuma's commitment to ethical business practices, sustainability and 6-star customer service.
- Have great communication between cafe and retail teams to ensure the cafe is covered and all customers are being assisted in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement new coffee offerings and seasonal promotions.
What You'll Need
- Previous experience as a Lead Barista or similar role in a cafe.
- This job requires the ability to work in-person at the Thuma Cafe in Cherry Creek.
- This job requires availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
- You’re a people person and like interacting with others.
- Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso preparation, and latte art.
- Possess a Denver Food Safety Manager card or be willing to obtain one.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-centric approach. Physical Requirements:
- Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and move medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., using proper equipment and safety techniques.
