Roles span Designer II through Principal, Senior Consultant. Your level — and your title — are determined by your assessment, not by the role you apply to.

If you have meaningful experience in more than one discipline, apply to your primary discipline and tell your recruiter about your secondary discipline(s) during your Introduction Call. You may be scheduled for a separate Discipline Assessment for each one.

Security at TEECOM

TEECOM's Security practice designs physical security systems for complex, high-profile facilities across a wide and growing range of industries, campuses, and building types. Systems include video surveillance (IP camera systems), electronic access control, intrusion detection, security communications, visitor management, and integrated security platforms.

Security designers at TEECOM produce detailed construction documents, specification sections, coordination memos and basis of design reports, and support projects through construction administration and system acceptance testing. You will coordinate closely with architects, IT, door hardware specifiers, security system manufacturers, mechanical, and electrical engineers, and with client security operations and IT teams. Work often requires understanding how security systems integrate with building networks, fire/life safety systems, elevators, power infrastructure, and IT/OT environments.

At more senior levels, you will lead security system design strategies, develop or support security system standards, perform system assessments, mentor junior designers, manage client relationships, and contribute to growing TEECOM's Security practice.

What We're Looking For

We hire at all levels — the strongest security candidates are continuously learning, curious about how physical and digital systems evolve, and take ownership of delivering designs that hold up in complex, real-world environments. If you don’t have everything on this list yet, that’s expected — TEECOM develops people through structured documentation, mentorship, and real project work.

• • Experience designing electronic and physical security systems across a range of facility types and industries
  • Familiarity with leading platforms (Lenel, Software House, Genetec, Milestone, Axis, Bosch, Commend, Zenitel, and similar)
  • Ability to produce construction documents — device layouts, device schedules, system diagrams, panel layouts and elevations, details, and Division 28 specification sections
  • Understanding of IP networking as it applies to security systems — VLANs, PoE, bandwidth and storage estimation
  • Understanding of electrified door hardware and interface to access control systems
  • Familiarity with NFPA 72, UL standards, and applicable physical security codes and standards
  • Familiarity with vehicle gates, barriers, and parking control systems.
  • Experience with intrusion detection, visitor management, or integrated security command centers — preferred
  • Degree in any four-year engineering discipline, computer science, technology management, or a related technical field — or equivalent hands-on experience
  • ASIS PSP (Physical Security Professional) or CPP (Certified Protection Professional) certification — preferred
  • PE license (electrical preferred) — plus
  • Experience with Revit for security systems documentation
  • Ability to manage your own work independently across multiple concurrent projects
