Qualifications:Requires extensive knowledge of machine shop practices usually acquired through extensive on the job training and experienceJourneyman (machining) or 8 years equivalentHigh degree of mechanical aptitude and print reading skillsAbility to work independently and to manage one’s time effectivelyKnowledge/experience with other machines (lathe, mill, CNC set up/programming, surface grind, jig grind) is not required but is beneficialUnderstanding of individual contribution to the product conformity and product safetyThe importance of ethical behavior Responsibilities:The OD/ID Grinder is responsible for setting-up, operating and tending grindingGrinding applications will span cylindrical grinding, ID grinding & specialized tool/spindle grindingPlanning and performing difficult grinding operations which require complicated setups or a high degree of accuracyDetermine proper feeds, speeds, tooling and operation sequence or select those prescribed in drawings, blueprints or layouts, using a variety of precision measuring instrumentsMaintains a workable supply of perishable tools required in the operation of machineryAssists at other machines in Manufacturing when needed What We Need from You:Basic computer skillsDetail orientedKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Effective communication skills (oral / written)Ability to multitaskNo lifting restrictionsAbility to work on your feet for extended periods of time Why You’ll Love Working for Us:Industry-competitive salaryMedical, dental, vision insurance401KUpward mobility opportunitiesTraining opportunitiesEqual Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
