The Opportunity:
- We are seeking experiencedTax Managers andSenior Tax Managers, to join our growing M&A Tax team.
- The ideal candidate for our M&A Tax team will have a deep understanding of tax legislation and case law and have a proven track record of advising clients on tax structuring projects as well as undertaking due diligence on both buy-side and sell-side.
- Successful candidates will ideally be based in a location where KPMG has an office. Â However, we are open to flexible working for the right candidate.
Day To Day You Will:
- Manage and mentor junior tax specialists to ensure clients receive the highest level of service.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation.
- Conduct thorough research and apply findings to provide well-analysed tax opinions and practical advice, applying an understanding of legislation, case law, and financial information.
- Collaborate with other teams within the firm, beyond the Tax team, to provide holistic solution(s) to clientsâ.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including private equity, investment banks, law firms, and tax authorities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients by acting as a trusted advisor and managing communications in a timely and effective manner.

What You'll Bring To The Team:
- Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Taxation, Law or Accounting
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Tax Advisory roles. Experience in M&A tax sector is a bonus.
- Knowledge of New Zealand tax legislation and case law.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively advise clients.
- Competent user of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and mentor more junior tax specialists.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
