In This Position You Will:
- Develop computational and mathematical models of the human body and human physiology.
- Create patient-specific models using medical imaging data (CT, MRI, ultrasound, microscopy, etc.).
- Design and implement biomechanical, physiological, or multi-physics simulations.
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into research software and production applications.
- Validate models using experimental or clinical data.
- Work directly with clinicians, researchers, and sponsors to understand technical requirements.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
- Contribute to Kitware's open source software ecosystem.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree + 2 years of experience or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- Experience developing computational or mathematical models of the human body.
- Strong programming skills in C++ or Python (C++ preferred).
- Experience with scientific computing and numerical methods.
- Familiarity with medical imaging and image processing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams.
- Due to contractual requirements, only U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
- If not already cleared TS/SCI, willingness and ability to apply for and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
