Responsibilities- Interface electromechanical systems with conventional automotive vehicles- Build up electrical and/or mechatronic systems- Test and troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems- Debug issues stemming from either add-on modifications, inherent vehicle issues, or the interface between the two- Documentation of in-field issues and maintenance- Write reports and record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, and specifications to assist engineers.ย - Assist in autonomous vehicle bring-up at customer locations- Basic software work; uploading updated code to various vehicle subsystems- Communicate issues with a remote hardware team, local mechanics and test engineers
Required Skills- Ability to read, write, and interpret technical drawings & schematics- Basic knowledge of automotive systems and repair- Diagnostics and troubleshooting experience- Basic electrical skills: Soldering, ingress protection, fault identification, wiring harnesses.- Basic mechanical skills (knows their way around a vehicle)- Familiarity with air systems, preferably semi-truck air brake systems- Able to lift more than 40 lbs.- Travel requirement up to 30%
Preferred- Robotics/autonomous systems/transportation experience is a plus- SMT soldering experience, including hand board assembly (solder paste, ovens, hand solder work)- Familiarity with multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, hand tools, power tools, adhesives, and sealants- General knowledge of materials and their mechanical properties
