- Collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and software teams to support full product development.
- Lead the design, development and validation of electronic hardware systems, including circuit design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection.Â
- Build, prototype, debug, and document hardware designs for new product development.
- Apply electrical engineering principles such as circuit analysis, modeling, thermal management, and EMC considerations.
- Engage with customers on-site, providing technical leadership and building strong relationships.
- Lead hardware design reviews and guide technical decision-making across projects.
- Develop and execute test strategies, including pre-compliance and validation testing at certified labs.Â
- Estimate technical tasks, timelines, and project scope for customer engagements.
- Contribute to and improve internal engineering tools, processes, and best practices.
- Support business development through technical input on proposals and customer discussions.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to developing team capabilities and consulting excellence.
What will make you successful:
- Bachelor of Science in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical hardware design or product development.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial, adaptable mindset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfortable operating in ambiguity and shaped undefined requirements.
- Proven experience with schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware bring-up.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and ability to collaborate effectively with software teams.
- Experience with lab validation, testing, and regulatory/pre-compliance processes.
- Ability to travel to customer sites is essential (mostly local in West Michigan but sometimes domestic).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with customers.
- Must have the current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without restrictions or expirations.
