The Client Advisor (Manager) serves as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of approximately 60–75 clients, acting as a strategic partner to drive business performance and long-term client success.Â
This role extends beyond traditional accounting, requiring the ability to deeply understand each client’s business, financial position, tax considerations, and strategic goals, and translate that understanding into actionable guidance.Â
The Advisor is responsible for delivering a high-touch, proactive client experience, balancing responsiveness with forward-thinking insights that help clients make informed decisions and achieve their objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for assigned clients
- Build deep knowledge of each client’s: Â
- Business structure and operationsÂ
- Financial performance and key driversÂ
- Tax considerations and implications on decision-making
- Short- and long-term goalsÂ
- Establish strong relationships through consistent communication, trust, and accountabilityÂ
- Translate financial and operational data into clear, relevant, and actionable insightsÂ
- Provide proactive recommendations related to growth, profitability, and operational efficiencyÂ
- Incorporate tax awareness into client conversations, helping clients understand: Â
- How tax strategy impacts cash flow and profitabilityÂ
- Timing of decisions and financial outcomesÂ
- When to engage tax specialists for more complex needsÂ
- Identify risks, opportunities, and trends, and bring them forward at the right timeÂ
- Lead client conversations with confidence, including navigating difficult or sensitive discussionsÂ
- Deliver timely, thoughtful, and high-quality responses to client inquiriesÂ
- Anticipate client needs and proactively engage ahead of key decisions or milestonesÂ
- Coordinate across accounting, tax, and other internal teams to ensure seamless deliveryÂ
- Maintain accountability for the overall client experience and outcomes, regardless of who performs the workÂ
- Effectively manage a portfolio of 60–75 clients with competing prioritiesÂ
- Demonstrate strong self-management, organization, and follow-throughÂ
- Ensure consistent communication cadence and no breakdowns in responsivenessÂ
- Balance strategic advisory work with day-to-day client needsÂ
- Operate with a high degree of ownership and independence
- Develop and apply knowledge of the dental industry, including: Â
- Practice operations and performance driversÂ
- Growth strategies (e.g., scheduling, staffing, production optimization)Â
- Common financial and operational benchmarksÂ
- Use industry insights to provide more tailored and differentiated guidance

Industry Expertise (Preferred)
Qualifications:
- 5–8+ years of experience in client-facing accounting, advisory, or consulting rolesÂ
- Demonstrated experience managing a client portfolio or book of businessÂ
- Strong understanding of financial statements and business performance driversÂ
- Familiarity with tax concepts and their impact on business decisions (does not require deep technical tax expertise)Â
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence client decision-makingÂ
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and financial reporting tools preferredÂ
- Client-first mindset – delivers a high-touch, relationship-driven experienceÂ
