Benefit Information:This position is part of LOCAL 501. LOCAL 501 will provide the benefits, pension, and 401(K).
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial chiller systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on centrifugal, screw, scroll, and reciprocating chillers.
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
- Monitor chiller performance and adjust operating parameters to optimize efficiency.
- Service associated HVAC equipment, including cooling towers, condenser water systems, chilled water pumps, expansion tanks, and piping systems.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak detection, and repairs in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Conduct vibration analysis, oil testing, and equipment performance assessments.
- Maintain and calibrate temperature, pressure, flow, and control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Respond to emergency service calls and equipment failures.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance data.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and facility management teams on major repairs and projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Assist in equipment upgrades, retrofits, and capital improvement projects.
- Support overall facility operations and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school certification in HVAC/R, Mechanical Systems, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience servicing commercial or industrial chillers.
- Experience working in commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, manufacturing plants, or data centers preferred.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS) is desirable.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
- HVAC/R Certification preferred.
