💵Compensation: 45 - 50k per year or 280 daily rate

📋What You'll Architect

As aSenior Data Engineerwith strong expertise inSnowflake, you will help organisations transform complexity into measurable outcomes by combining technology, data, intelligence, and human decision-making.

This role is both technical and consultative, perfect for someone who can combinedata engineering expertise,large-scale migration delivery, andmodern cloud data platform design. We're looking for professionals who think like architects and act like builders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of data workflows fromHadoop/Hive environments intoSnowflake.

• Design and implement a scalableMigration Factory to industrialise and automate migration processes.

• Develop and optimiseDataiku workflows supporting data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and automation.

• Design and maintain robustETL/ELT pipelines to improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

• Analyse existing data solutions and identify opportunities for optimisation and performance improvement.

• Implement scalable and high-performingSnowflake architectures, ensuring security, governance, and operational excellence.

• Collaborate withData Architects,Business Analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Contribute to documentation, knowledge transfer, and engineering best practices across projects.

🛠️What You Bring

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant academic background inComputer Science,Data Engineering,Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

• 6+ years of experience as aData Engineer or in a similar role.

• Proven experience deliveringdata migration programmes, ideally withinLift & Shift initiatives.

• Strong experience working with moderndata warehousing anddata platform technologies.

• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

• Professional proficiency inEnglish.

• Professional proficiency inFrench.

• Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong expertise withSnowflake (data modelling, optimisation, performance tuning, security).

• Hands-on experience withDataiku or equivalent tools (Alteryx, Talend, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Knime, Apache NiFi).

• Strong experience with:Hadoop; Hive;Legacy-to-cloud migration projects

• Proficiency in:

  • SQL

  • Relational databases

  • Analytical databases

• Proficiency inbig data frameworks such asApache Spark, or alternatives (Databricks, Flink, Beam).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design scalable and maintainable data solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience withAWS,Azure, orGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Programming experience withPython orScala.

• Knowledge ofCI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.

• Understanding ofData Governance,Data Quality, andData Security best practices.

• Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments.

• Exposure to international projects and multicultural teams.
