Implementation Specialist – Data and Research Management

The Wistar Institute has an opening for an Implementation Specialist, Data and Research Management (“Implementation Specialist”) in our Laboratory Operations & EHS department. The Implementation specialist is responsible for the implementation, support, and management of organization-wide initiatives pertaining to Laboratory Operations including EHS, IACUC, IRB and IBC.  This role is responsible for supporting the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of research data systems and scientific operational platforms across The Wistar Institute. This position serves as a key resource for electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), inventory management systems, research data repositories, and scientific information management processes for IACUC, IRB and IBC.

The Implementation Specialist will work with Principal Investigators and lab personnel to ensure successful adoption and implementation of software within the labs and access to scientific repositories.

The Implementation Specialist will collaborate with Principal Investigators, laboratory personnel, Information Technology, Research Administration, Operations, and Legal departments to ensure effective data management, system adoption, regulatory compliance, and research record integrity. The position supports laboratory onboarding, user account management, data repository access administration, and implementation of institutional standards for electronic research records. In addition, the Implementation Specialist provides some administrative support to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) program, assisting with protocol documentation, regulatory submissions, meeting coordination, and compliance record maintenance.

Qualifications:A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a science-related field, is required. (A Master’s degree in a laboratory biomedical science preferred.) A minimum of two years of prior experience in an administrative or laboratory setting with relevant work experience is required. (Experience with Research Compliance and IRB desired.)
