Position: Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)

TheSubstance Abuse Counselor provides direct counseling, guidance and case management services to clients with specific substance abuse problems. The Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)/ Case Manager participates in delivery of social services to all clients of the program.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GEDandcurrent Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) by NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
- It also requires a minimum of one yearās experience of social services experience in treatment planning, individual and group counseling case management and crisis intervention.

Substance Abuse Counselor Principal Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate counseling services to individuals with specialized needs as defined in the service plan.
- Develop service plans with clients which address individualized needs.
- Maintain client records.
- Maintain linkages with community treatment providers.
- Complete accurate and comprehensive service delivery reports.
