SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER

The Senior Product Manager at Trudell Animal Health serves as the strategic champion and operational driver for our rapidly expanding portfolio of companion animal and equine healthcare innovations. Operating within a high-velocity, high-growth environment, this pivotal role leads the end-to-end product lifecycle from early-stage concept discovery through clinical validation, regulatory navigation, and successful global commercialization.

Responsibilities Include:

People Management

• Directly manage, mentor, and scale product managers and specialists by instituting agile product management practices, performance frameworks, and personalized coaching tracks tailored to thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial organization
• Ensure staff have clarity of expectations through the delivery of objectives and understanding key deliverables
• Treat employees fairly, consistently and equitably
• Create an environment of engagement and empowerment allowing staff to identify and resolve problems independently and take initiative where needed
• Manage employee issues to enable employees to have a high degree of focus on their jobs, i.e. by resolving employee relations issues, performance problems, and disciplinary issues

GROWTH ROADMAP EXECUTION

• Continuously assess owned product portfolios’ market dynamics, customer needs, competitive landscape, and commercial performance
• Identify opportunities and risks, continuously stack-ranking while creating a relentless focus on projects that are aligned with market opportunities and needs
• Develop, maintain and execute an actionable growth roadmap, translating strategic priorities into clear product initiatives, launch plans, milestones, resource requirements, and measurable outcomes
• Secure cross-functional buy-in and Leadership approval for the roadmap and it’s initiatives communicating the business case and expected returns.
• Own key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure alignment with Trudell Animal Health’s objectives
• Ensure product decisions are grounded in customer needs, clinical value, technical feasibility, and commercial potential

END-TO-END CONCEPT-TO-COMMERCIALIZATION EXECUTION

• Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to define product requirements, create intellectual property, and support concept design
• Lead cross-functional project teams through stage-gate development, design controls, product economics, clinical evaluation, and high-impact global product launches

PORTFOLIO OPTIMIZATION (PRODUCT LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT)

• Define and lead product strategy across Trudell Animal Health maximizing profitability, managing product lifecycles, and scaling market share across channels globally
• Regularly review progress with cross-functional stakeholders and adjust priorities quickly to support Trudell Animal Health’s fast-growing environment

MARKET INSIGHT AND VOICE-OF-CUSTOMER TRANSLATION

• Maintain a strong understanding of veterinary and equine markets, clinical workflows, customer needs, emerging trends, and competitive activity
• Build relationships with veterinarians, veterinary surgeons, technicians, equine and large animal specialists, and other key opinion leaders to identify unmet needs and market opportunities
• Translate customer and clinical insights into product requirements, positioning, value propositions, and portfolio priorities
• Lead the strategic sourcing, engagement and management of KOLs to support product development and business objectives

AGILE GO-TO-MARKET EXECUTION

• Partner with Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions to develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies

• Drive launch planning and develop pricing, accurate demand forecasts, and sales enablement programs
• Ensure product management supports the development of appropriate clinical education, scientific, and customer-facing materials in collaboration with Marketing, Science, and KOLs
• Represent Trudell Animal Health and its products at relevant veterinary industry events, conferences, and webinars

HEALTH AND SAFETY

• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Animal Science, Life Sciences, or a related field
2. Master’s degree or equivalent advanced credential considered an asset
3. 7 years of progressive product management experience within veterinary devices, equine healthcare, animal health pharmaceuticals, or human medical devices, preferably gained in fast-scaling or dynamic operating environments
4. Previous experience leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams
5. Demonstrated hunger for achieving and exceeding goals
6. High emotional intelligence with a growth mindset
7. Demonstrated success leading multiple complex physical devices or clinical healthcare products from initial ideation through to full-scale commercialization and market growth
8. At least 2-3 years of direct people management experience with a proven history of coaching, mentoring, and upskilling talent within high-performing product management teams
9. Practical working knowledge of equine health, veterinary workflows in ambulatory and clinic environments, or large animal therapeutics is strongly preferred
10. Solid understanding of veterinary regulatory pathways, quality management frameworks such as ISO 13485, design controls, and risk management standards
11. Ability to pivot quickly, navigate ambiguity, build processes where none exist, and maintain operational momentum in a fast-growing business unit
12. Strong ability to engage credibly with equine practitioners and owners, companion animal veterinarians, and technical specialists to translate clinical insights into compelling commercial narratives
13. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and business analytics tools and platforms such as PowerBI and Tableau
14. Experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, D365, Salesforce and project management software such as Wrike, Jira, or Asana
