AIA Youth Initiative Coach

• Introduce not yet believers to the gospel and provide opportunities for current believers to grow in spiritual maturity
• • Coaches will be expected to help present AIA’s More Than a Game talks as well as lead small group discussions with participating athletes. 
  • Motivate, encourage and inspire volunteers and athletes to share their faith with friends, family, teammates and coaches. 
  • Help fight negative views of sport by sharing the gospel and coaching with the goal of transformation.
    
    
• Facilitate a sport experience that is first class.
• • Attend coach’s training, camp meetings and orientations.
  • Work closely with a coaching team, volunteers and additional AIA staff to ensure roles and responsibilities are accomplished. 
  • Apply age and skill appropriate teaching techniques for sport specific skills and physical literacy. 

• Network and build relationships with key influencers in the sports community.
• • Communicate the stories and experiences of camp with the Regional Director

•  You have varsity/post secondary sports involvement(preferred, not required)
• You have previous coaching experience(preferred, not required)

• You have a deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and desire to grow as a leader 
• Youwould be committed to Athletes in Actions’ leadership methods and ministry models
• Youhave the ability to understand and implement coaching tools and strategies to promote skill development in athletes
• Youhave the ability to create a safe, fun and exciting learning environment
• You havethe ability to work well within the structure of a team
• You have an understanding of and passion for the athletic world
• You have a heart for evangelism and the ability to communicate the gospel clearly
• You havegood time management, an ability to be flexible and willingness to take initiative
• You have the ability to communicate effectively with small and large groups
