Job Summary: TheSenior Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in coordinating project delivery, documentation, cost control, scheduling, quality, safety, and closeout activities. The role is expected to develop increasing independence, anticipate project needs, and build the technical and leadership capabilities required to advance into a Project Manager or Site Superintendent position. Working collaboratively with clients, contractors, partners, and internal teams, the Senior Project Engineer helps deliver value-added projects safely, on time, and within budget while building lasting customer relationships. This position will assist Project Managers and Superintendents on multiple projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager and Site Superintendent in monitoring the project budget and schedule, identifying variances, and communicating potential impacts.
- Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with Project Meetings and ensure accurate documentation of meetings.
- Assist Superintendent with daily construction problem solving on the site to keep project on schedule.
- Assist Project Manager with budget tracking and change orders
- Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with QA/QC checks like specification reviews
- Assist Superintendent with schedule reviews and 4-week look ahead
- Assist Superintendent with inspection scheduling
- Assist Project Manager with Long Lead Procurement Logs
- Assist Superintendent with Daily Pictures of the site
- Assist PM with the Owner provided equipment and material
- Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with Procore tools as needed.
- Assist with Daily Logs, submittal logs, RFI logs
- Assist Superintendent with site observations in Procore
- Assist Project Team with Closeout Documentation including as-builts, owner training, transmittal of attic stock.
- Assist Superintendent and PM with final punch list items
- Develop professional relationships with Contractors
- Assist PM with take-offs during design phase
- Work with Superintendent and PM on development of Weekly Reports
- Productively communicate and regularly interact with project team and other departments as needed.
- Assists with successful management of project by reviewing and analyzing submittals, change orders, and RFIs for conformance.
- Follow internal process, policies, and delivery methods for projects.
- Ensure and maintain culture of safety on project site.
- Successfully work with Project Managers to identify potential concerns, suggest solutions, and implement plans of action.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting and Collaboration: This position works under the direction of the assigned Project Manager and Site Superintendent and collaborates regularly with project teams, clients, contractors, consultants, and internal departments.
Problem Solving:
Problems generally involve the selection of choices from standard procedures, organizing work, and checking results. Answers are usually found from selection of documented choices determined by policies and/or procedures.
Supervision Required:
Performs tasks and duties under direct and near-constant supervision; work is frequently reviewed by supervisor.
Decision-Making Impact:
Some independent judgment is necessary to select and implement the most appropriate solution, with frequent discussion/contact with a supervisor. May occasionally make recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Work Complexity:
Tasks are various and focus more on single processes. Work is sometimes standardized and sometimes varied.
Time Management:
This position is expected to work in the office, when not out on site. If work from home is needed, it must be approved by manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will not supervise.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required):
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, together with at least three years of relevant construction or project experience.
- Proven ability to work independently for periods of time.
- Proven ability to manage time, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites.
- Proven ability to maintain excellent integrity and ethical standards within role.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Physical Requirements:
Position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and vison. Occasional climbing/balancing, reaching with arms, crouching/crawling, feeling/touching, and lifting/carrying objects weighing over 20lbs may be required.
