Strategist, Influencers & Social Media

PURPOSE:

Build connections with influencers and create content that inspires people to visit Mall of America®. This role focuses primarily on influencer partnerships and content creation, contributing creative ideas and managing day-to-day campaign details. Reporting to the Social Media Senior Manager, this role works closely with the Social Media Strategist and Social Media Coordinator. This is an onsite role with weekend work as scheduled.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Recommend and coordinate influencer partnerships and content concepts that support MOA’s marketing priorities that reach relevant audiences and encourage visitation.
• Source, evaluate and recruit local, regional and national influencers and content creators, considering audience fit, engagement quality and brand alignment while representing a broad range of voices, perspectives and interests.
• Manage day-to-day creator communication, including contracts, campaign briefs, timelines, content approvals, deliverables and ongoing relationship development.
• Coordinate and host influencer visits and content shoots, collaborating with tenants, attractions and internal teams to support successful partnerships and a positive guest experience.
• Create social media content, including filming and editing short-form video, capturing photography and writing platform-appropriate copy.
• Collaborate on content planning and calendars to align creator partnerships and original content with MOA campaigns, events and promotions.
• Support publishing and community management, responding according to MOA guidelines and escalating sensitive guest concerns or potential reputational issues.
• Track and report on social media content and influencer campaign performance, using key metrics to measure success against goals and recommend improvements for future campaigns.
• Stay current on pop culture, influencer, industry and social media trends, bringing timely ideas for MOA’s participation in social conversations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• BA/BS with an emphasis in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or Liberal Arts.
• At least 3 years of Social Media, Marketing, Communications or related work experience.
• Prior content creation and experience with influencers preferred.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and X.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments, working independently and as a team player.
• Knowledge of social media tools (CapCut, Sprout Social or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Onsite presence required to capture live experiences and events, and ability to have a non-traditional work schedule when needed to accommodate events, including weekends as scheduled.
• A passion for social media, community engagement and digital media.
