OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking aClinical Support Staff for theUlster County Youth ACT Team who has experience supporting children and emerging adults ages10–21 navigating symptoms ofSerious Emotional Disturbance (SED). The ideal candidate will be passionate about working in a collaborative team to provide intensive and highly coordinated interventions to address the significant needs of youth at risk of entering, or returning home from, high-intensity services such as inpatient or residential care.

Youth ACT services are delivered in thehome, school, or community-based settings using amultidisciplinary approach to support youth and families in achieving sustainable success. The Clinical Support Staff will play an integral role in supporting therapeutic treatment goals by providingtargeted skill development, training, and education to enhance a young person’s ability to manage health and mental health needs, build pre-vocational and vocational skills, and engage in prosocial activities.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Deliver trauma-informed, culturally, and linguistically competent care that supports recovery.
• ConductChild and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Assessments andStanley Brown Safety Plans.
• Providecrisis intervention, including participation in aweekly on-call rotation.
• Maintainup-to-date documentation and progress notes in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
• Participate indaily team meetings and clinical discussions to ensure coordinated care.
• Communicate withschools, medical personnel, and other treatment-adjacent providers as appropriate.
• Follow all establishedorganizational, regulatory, and oversight policies, procedures, and guidelines.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
• Support outreach and engagement efforts to maintain connection with youth and families.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and program development initiatives.
• Attend ongoing training and supervision to enhance professional growth and service quality.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

The ideal candidate:
• Holds aBachelor’s Degree and hasat least one year of relevant experience.
• Possesses avalid Driver’s License, hasreliable transportation, and iswilling to transport clients in their own vehicle.
• Demonstratescomputer literacy, including proficiency inMicrosoft Office Suite and the ability to learn/utilize anElectronic Health Record (EHR).
• Can workindependently while maintainingstrong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
• Isflexible, able toprioritize multiple tasks, and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
• Works effectively as ateam player with colleagues, community partners, and other providers.
• Is committed toongoing professional training and development.
• Has experience providingcase management (e.g., assisting with Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP Benefits applications);preferred.
• Isbilingual (English/Spanish); preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

•Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
•Preferred: One or more years of experience working with youth experiencing Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) or in community-based behavioral health settings.
