General Information/Job Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for direction, guidance, safety, health and welfare of all site staff including documentation and execution of day-to-day operational needs across multiple projects. Superintendent manages the day-to-day crew and subcontractors’ actives, manage weekly changes in production in safe and effective manner, ensuring safe working conditions is paramount. Shall and that everyone is trained and understand all the hazards of each job site and job activity. Candidate shall possess a minimum of ten (10) years of transmission & distribution or Substation experience as general foreman or above. Applicant Shall also have in-depth knowledge of all applicable OSHA codes and standards Foster safe work practices, must be able to direct multiple crews and ensures project execution.

Responsibilities/Competencies

• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and requirements, develop and maintain strong safety culture on the jobsite.
• Ensure compliance with all Company policies, operating procedures, and standards
• Ensure quality work products are performed within requirements of project QC standards and documentation
• Leads all aspects of preparation of construction such as schedules resource estimates outage request accident an incident investigation inspection plans and reports and personnel evaluations.
• Technical assistance interpretation of drawings recommends construction methods and means equipment installation as required
• review bid packages
• Interpret construction plans
• Assist foreman with direction of job task
• Generate a list of required personnel and equipment
• Generate initial list of tooling
• Align personnel and tooling
• Mentor fosters safe work practices
• Review drawings ensure proper grounding procedures and EPZ zones are identified and maintained

Construction duties

• Review and become familiar with contracts, SOW
• Visit crew and monitor safety, performance, & quality
• Assist foreman in coordinating major project activities
• Attend all required project meetings with owner as needed
• Assistant updating schedules and process reports
• Verify as built and progress charge are maintained
• Arrange and participate in weekly meetings review personnel with operations
• Identify training requirements
• May attend training classes gathering new knowledge of process and safety regulations or refresher training

Other

• Review personnel with operations ensure grounding procedures and EPC zones are maintained
• Participate in monthly job reviews
• Accountable for cost progress and schedule for duration of project
• Follow up with any complaints
• Assist with monthly forecast

Requirements           

• 10 years supervisory experience in HV (34.5kV & above) substation space as general foreman or above
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, industry standards, equipment, construction methods, contracts and construction documents
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Willing to stay out of town
• First Aid & CPR cards
• Walk work on uneven terrain climb in and out of trucks
• Able to lift 50 lbs. daily
• Willing to work off the ground in man baskets up to 200 plus feet
• Must be able to work around energized equipment
• Must be familiar with underground vault, duct & cable installation and terminations
• Must know minimum approach distances
• Must have knowledge of cranes, rigging practices & lifting procedures
• Must be able to work outside 100% of the time
