Job Description:

Senior Coastal Engineer

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talentedSenior Coastal Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work within a team delivering Ports and Marine design solutions across the MENA region.

What You'll Be Doing:

Designof coastal protection structures such as revetments and breakwaters.

Design of beaches including groynes .

Design scour protection.

Designofseawater intake/outfall structures.

Prepare specifications and manage bathymetric surveys.

Inspect and assess the condition of existing coastal structures.

Participate in the preparation of specifications formarinegeotechnical investigations.

Oversee the use ofadvanced hydrodynamic modeling software such as the Mike21 suite of programs.

Function as discipline ProjectCoastal Engineer onprojects, assuming responsibility for leading designs for the group.

Plan, direct, and supervise thecoastal engineeringworkon a projectwith responsibility for schedule, quality and resource expenditure.

Lead other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth.

Ensures compliance of marine and coastal design with all applicable codes and regulations.

Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.

Prepares technical papers,reports, and presentations.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Minimum ofbachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of related work experience in coastal engineering.

Ability to perform in a lead capacity, excellentEnglishwritten and oral communications skills, and familiaritywithindustry practices and regulations

Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current marine and coastal engineering design standards and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on projects.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Experience withlocal approving authoritiesfor marine and coastal worksin the UAE is an advantage.
