Job Summary
South Shore Endoscopy Center | 659 Washington Street, Braintree, MA | 32 hours per weekBring your endoscopy expertise to a collaborative ambulatory team where quality, respect, compassion, and exceptional patient care guide every interaction. We are seeking a skilled and adaptable RN to support patients throughout their endoscopy experienceāfrom assessment and sedation through recovery, education, and discharge.
What Youāll Do
ā¢ Assess each assigned patient and plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
ā¢ Provide safe, attentive care in the Post Sedation Care Unit (PSCU) in accordance with established nursing standards.
ā¢ Monitor vital signs, IV sites, and any specialized equipment required during recovery.
ā¢ Complete systematic patient assessments and clearly communicate findings or changes in condition to the gastroenterologist.
ā¢ Administer medications used for moderate sedation under the direct supervision of the gastroenterologist.
ā¢ Demonstrate the knowledge and clinical competency needed to care for patients receiving moderate and deep sedation.
ā¢ Assess discharge readiness using the Aldrete Scoring Criteria and implement safe discharge plans.
ā¢ Record physician orders, document nursing interventions, and communicate pertinent information to support continuity of care.
ā¢ Perform nursing and endoscopy procedures in accordance with facility policies and demonstrate proficiency in endoscopy skills.
ā¢ Identify patient and family education needs and provide clear guidance that promotes health, well-being, and understanding of physician instructions.
ā¢ Maintain a safe care environment, including equipment and supplies.
ā¢ Support the Centerās Quality Management and Professional Improvement Program and participate in relevant in-service education.
ā¢ Build positive relationships with patients, families, and visitors while consistently following Center policies and procedures.
ā¢ Pursue ongoing professional growth through formal and informal education related to endoscopy services.

Qualifications
What Youāll Bring
- Education: Associateās Degree in Nursing required; Bachelorās Degree in Nursing preferred.
- License: Registered Nurse (RN) state license required.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Experience: Endoscopy experience required; ambulatory-setting experience preferred.

Schedule
This is a 32-hour position scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.ā3:30 p.m., with a rotating day off. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse seeking a consistent weekday schedule while delivering high-quality care in an ambulatory environment.
