Leidos is seeking a talented Software Engineer to help lead the development of next-generation software capabilities within our dynamic research and development environment. In this role, you’ll design and deliver innovative Knowledge Management solutions that power data-driven decision-making across critical national security missions.

You’ll work at the intersection ofdata engineering, AI, and full-stack development, building scalable platforms that transform complex data into actionable insights.

What You’ll Do

• Design and developKnowledge Management systems, including data pipelines, ontologies, and AI-enabled platforms

• Buildmodern web applications (front-end and back-end) to support search, discovery, and analysis

• Develop and maintainETL pipelines and data lake architectures

• IntegrateAI/ML capabilities, including Generative AI and LLM APIs

• Collaborate across teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable, mission-focused solutions

• Supportdata analysis, modeling, simulation, and visualization efforts

• Ensure software quality through testing, validation, and performance optimization

• Deploy solutions insecure, cloud-based, and containerized environments

What You Bring

• Experience insoftware development and system design, with a strong foundation in computer science principles

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such asPython, Java, C++, R, or JavaScript/TypeScript

• Experience building applications usingReact or Angular, and back-end frameworks such asFastAPI

• Familiarity withSQL and NoSQL databases

• Working knowledge ofcloud platforms (preferably AWS) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)

• Experience withdata pipelines, ETL processes, and data management systems

• Exposure toGenerative AI / LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock)

• Understanding ofsoftware testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Playwright, Jest)

• Ability to work inLinux/Unix and Windows environments

• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Basic Qualifications

• TS/SCI w/Polygraph

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum of1+ years of relevant experience

• Interest in supportingIntelligence Community and DoD missions

• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS) in a relevant technical field

• Experience withAI/ML, LLMs, and AWS Bedrock

• Familiarity withDTRA R&D or Combatant Command environments

• Experience integratingCOTS/GOTS tools, including 3D modeling, simulation, or visualization platforms
