QI & PC Inspector

SUMMARY

The QC Inspector for Production and QC is reporting to Production & QC Manager or Assistant Production Manager and is responsible and accountable in ensuring the quality and integrity of Deckers’ footwear products that are produced and shipped out from partner production factories through incoming materials screening audits, regular in-process production audits and final goods inspections.  He is also tasked to monitor production orders schedule versus ex-factory commitments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

15%

Finished goods finals inspection. This is primarily the job responsibility if there is no CFQC (Certified Factory QC) inspector assigned in the factory.  If there is, he shall be responsible for doing joint final inspections of first production order with the CFQCs to brief the latter on quality requirements of new models.  He shall also be responsible in doing 2nd level inspection on some PO’s inspected by the CFQCs in conformance with the guideline issued by the production and quality leadership.

Leads and drives the proper implementation of in-process production process controls, incoming materials quality control (IMQC) process, and finished goods storage quality assurance.

Daily production order status checking and monitoring   and collaborate with production leadership in resolving production issues that may affect delivery timelines.

Assists Deckers Production Manager in coordinating with the factory production team and Deckers Dev-com team the proper and timely execution of T4 production trials and in making sure COVA’s are available for critical processes. Actively participates on tech meetings.

Drives and leads the factory production teams in driving the implementation of quality and productivity improvement programs like QIP, Lean Production, Kaizen and provides on-site support for these projects.

Monitoring the assigned facilities materials and FST Lab testing review and audit in coordination with Deckers lab team.  Assists the RS Compliance team in driving compliance to Restricted Substances requirements – i.e; CPSIA, RS testing of production materials.

Provides on-site assistance to the ESC team in the monitoring and pushing compliance to ESC production standards.

Assists in on-site monitoring of product security compliance upon request by the Product Security team or when mandated by the company leadership.

Does other job  related to quality control and quality assurance as maybe  assigned by his superiors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Any Certifications Required

• Good verbal and written English communication skill.
• Computer literate
• At least 3 years college education  or  footwear technical school graduate.

Year(s) of Experience & Background Required

• Minimum 4 years working experience in a reputable footwear company in either  production, commercialization, development,  or quality control.
• Basic knowlegede of footwear manufacturing processes.
• Good product eye and good abstract and colour recognition.
• Must have high moral integrity (non-corruptible)
• Basic knowledge of footwear manufacturing processes.
• Basic knowledge of footwear inspection.
