Solutions Architect, Automotive は、グローバルOEMから国内のスタートアップまで、幅広いお客様とともに、Mapboxのテクノロジーを活用した次世代のモビリティ体験を形にしていくポジションです。

What You'll Do

Solutions Architectは、お客様の技術面・ビジネス面の双方における信頼されるアドバイザーとして、お客様と連携しながら、Mapboxプラットフォームを活用したソリューションの設計、プロトタイプ開発、導入を支援します。

お客様やアカウントチームと直接連携し、ニーズの把握からアーキテクチャの設計、ソリューションの実現までをリードします。データ、モビリティ、地図を組み合わせることで、優れたデジタル体験を創出し、具体的なビジネス成果につなげていく役割です。

技術に関する深い知見とビジネスへの理解をあわせ持ち、戦略、アーキテクチャ、ソリューション実現のすべてに関わりながら価値を生み出すことにやりがいを感じる方に適したポジションです。

このポジションで活躍する方の多くは、ソフトウェアエンジニアリング、プロダクトマネジメント、ソリューションエンジニアリング、テクニカルコンサルティングなど、複数の領域での経験を有しています。

Core responsibilities

• 営業チームと連携し、Mapboxの技術的な価値をお客様に伝え、ビジネス機会の創出・具体化を支援します。

• お客様の目標、要件、成功基準を把握するための技術的なヒアリングをリードし、ビジネス目標の達成につながるソリューションを設計します。

• MapboxのSDK、API、プラットフォームサービスを活用し、拡張性の高いアーキテクチャを設計・提案します。

• お客様からの技術的な依頼（RFI／RFQ）に対し、明確な技術文書やソリューション提案を作成・提供します。

• プリセールスの各段階で技術的なアドバイスを提供するとともに、変化の速いデジタルビジネス環境において、ワークショップ、デモ、PoC／PoVを通じて、お客様の技術活用を迅速に支援します。

• 導入効果を早期に実現できるよう支援し、ダイナミックで複雑なエコシステムにおけるMapboxの導入・活用拡大を促進することで、お客様の成功に貢献します。

• お客様のニーズを社内に的確に伝え、体系的なフィードバックを提供することで、プロダクトやエンジニアリングの方向性に貢献します。

• 地図、モビリティ、AIに関する最新のテクノロジーや動向を継続的に把握し、ベストプラクティスを社内およびお客様と共有します。

What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role

• ソリューションアーキテクチャ、顧客対応を伴うエンジニアリング（プリセールス／ポストセールス）、またはコンサルティングの分野で5年以上の実務経験をお持ちの方

• 日本語および英語で、ビジネスレベル以上のコミュニケーション（読み書き・会話）ができる方

• 日本国内に居住している方

• コンピューターサイエンス、エンジニアリング、または関連分野の学士号もしくは修士号をお持ちの方（尚可）

• 自動車業界およびそのエコシステムへの理解があり、ナビゲーション、自動運転、ADAS、ISA、SDV（Software-Defined Vehicle）などの関連技術に関する知識をお持ちの方

• お客様とのミーティング、ワークショップ、業界イベントなどのため、業務時間の最大25％程度の出張に対応できる方

As a Solutions Architect, Automotive, you'll work with a diverse range of customers—from global OEMs to Japanese startups—to shape the next generation of mobility experiences.

What You'll Do

Solutions Architects are trusted technical and business advisors who partner with customers to design, prototype, and deliver solutions on the Mapbox platform. You will work directly with customers and account teams to discover needs, design architectures, and deliver solutions that turn data, mobility, and mapping into effective digital experiences and measurable business outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who combines technical depth with commercial acumen and thrives at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and delivery. Successful candidates typically have a mix of software engineering, product management, solutions engineering, and technical consulting experience prior to this role.

Core responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to position Mapbox’s technical value and shape opportunities.

• Lead technical discovery to understand customer goals, requirements, and success criteria, and ensure solution designs meet business objectives.

• Design and present scalable architectures using Mapbox SDKs, APIs, and platform services.

• Respond to technical customer requests (RFI/RFQ) with clear technical documentation and solution proposals.

• Provide technical guidance during the pre-sales cycle and deliver rapid technical enablement via workshops, demos, and PoC/PoV in a fast-paced digital customer environment.

• Drive customer success by accelerating time-to-value and supporting adoption and expansion in a dynamic, complex ecosystem.

• Advocate for customer needs and provide structured feedback to influence product and engineering direction.

• Stay current on mapping, mobility, and AI technologies and share best practices internally and with customers.

What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role

• 5+ years in solutions architecture, customer-facing engineering (pre-sales, post-sales), or consulting.

• Fluent in Japanese and English (both written and verbal communication)

• Location: Must reside in Japan

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

• Knowledge of web and mobile technologies (JavaScript, Android, iOS).

• Experience building applications that integrate back-end APIs and front-end SDKs.

• Experience of GIS, location intelligence, geospatial data, and mapping is a plus.

• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

• Experience with AI technologies is a plus.

• Experience leading technical responses for RFI/RFQ, crafting comprehensive technical proposals.

• Strong business acumen and comfort working autonomously across distributed teams.

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, robust architectures aligned with customer objectives.

• Excellent communication skills with both technical and executive audiences, combined with a proven ability to influence executive, product, engineering, and developer stakeholders.

• Experience collaborating with OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.

• Understanding of the Automotive industry and its ecosystem technologies such as navigation, autonomous driving, ADAS, ISA, and software-defined vehicles.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer meetings, workshops, and industry events.
