Digital Innovation and AI Coordinator

This is a rare opportunity for someone who can turn ideas into action and help us use digital tools in ways that genuinely improve how we work. In this role, you’ll help shape how our people across the Northland region adopt AI, digital tools and smarter ways of working.

This role will suit someone with hands-on experience using AI and digital tools in a practical business environment, and who understands how a busy office operates day to day. You’ll know how to spot where technology can make things simpler, faster or smarter, and how to introduce new ways of working in a way that feels useful, realistic and easy for others to adopt.

You’ll work across the business to improve efficiency, support innovation, and bridge the gap between technical capability and everyday operational needs. Just as importantly, you’ll be able to meet people where they’re at, bring them on the journey, and help build confidence as we move from more traditional ways of working to smarter digital support.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

• Identify, trial and implement AI tools, digital platforms and automation opportunities that improve business processes and day-to-day operations.
• Work with leaders and teams across the business to understand needs, recommend practical solutions, and turn ideas into action.

• Turn ideas into practical action by supporting innovation projects from concept through to rollout and adoption.

• Support the rollout of digital systems, process improvements and workflow documentation across different business units.
• Provide training, guidance and day-to-day support to build confidence and capability with digital tools.
• Monitor emerging technology, reporting and innovation opportunities with a practical focus on value, safety and quality.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a digital, innovation, tech support or related role using AI tools in a business focussed setting
• A strong understanding of how office-based teams work, and the ability to introduce technology in ways that support real day-to-day needs.
• The ability to explain technical ideas in plain language and build trust with colleagues who have different levels of digital confidence.
• A proactive, practical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, initiative and a willingness to learn fast.
• The confidence to guide others, support capability-building across the team, and help people move from old ways of working to new tools with clarity and support.
