The Chemours Company is seeking an Electrical & Instrument Mechanic to join our Maintenance team at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, West Virginia.


The Electrical & Instrument Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical and instrumentation equipment used throughout the manufacturing site. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams to support equipment reliability, complete maintenance activities, and assist with improvement projects.


The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair480 VAC motors, motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and related electrical equipment.

  • Troubleshoot electrical control circuits, including24 VDC and 120 VAC systems.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and configureProgrammable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

  • Performinstrument calibration, troubleshooting, and repair.

  • Maintain and repaircontrol valves, analyzers, and other industrial instrumentation.

  • Complete assigned maintenance work orders and maintain accurate information inSAP.

  • Communicate equipment repair status and operating issues to Production Supervisors, Maintenance Coordinators, and other team members.

  • Work closely with Technical Engineers and Area Supervisors on maintenance activities, equipment improvements, and projects.

  • Participate in mechanical reliability teams and continuous improvement activities.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing equipment to complete electrical and instrumentation maintenance work.

The following is required for this role:

  • Must be at least18 years of age.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3–5 years of relevant Electrical Maintenance and/or Industrial Instrumentation experience OR completion of an Associate degree, Journeyman Certification, NCCER certification, or vocational/technical program directly related to Electrical Maintenance or Instrumentation. Relevant field experience may also be considered.

  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, or maintaining industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment.

  • Valid driver's license.
     

The following is preferred for this role:

  • Experience with480 VAC motors, motor starters, and VFDs.

  • Experience troubleshooting24 VDC and 120 VAC control circuits.

  • Experience working withPLCs and/or DCS systems.

  • Experience performinginstrument calibration and maintaining control valves or analyzers.

  • Experience usingSAP or a similar computerized maintenance management system.
