Key Responsibilities

A) SAP Database Administration (in an TDI Landscape)

As a Database Specialist, you will take responsibility of SAP database setup & operations in aTailored Datacenter Integration (TDI) environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Ensurehigh availability, performance, and stability of SAP databases, specifically SAP HANA
• Manage and optimizeSAP HANA-based database systems in production environments
• Implement and maintainsecurity and governance standards
• Driveautomation of database administration tasks
• Own and continuously improve:
  • Backup & Recovery concepts
  • Disaster Recovery strategies and processes
• Performroot cause analysis and problem resolution for database-related issues
• Collaborate with SAP Basis and infrastructure teams on system lifecycle activities

Technical Focus

• SAP HANA architecture and operations for e.g.:
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • SAP BW
  • SAP EWM
  • SAP GTS and related systems
• Performance monitoring and tuning on the database layer
• Plan and test Database lifecycle management
  • Prepare and coordinate patching, upgrades, migrations

B) Automation & DevOps Engineering

You will play a key role in drivingautomation, standardization, and modernization across SAP platform operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implementautomation solutions for SAP infrastructure and operations
• Develop and maintain standard and custom automations
• Enable and supportDevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and operational workflows
• Integrate SAP operations with modern toolchains and monitoring solutions
• Collaborate with global teams to ensurescalable and repeatable processes

Tools & Technologies

• Programming & scripting:Python
• Automation frameworks:Ansible, Terraform
• Version control & pipelines:Git, CI/CD Pipelines
• Development environment:VS Code
• Container & platform tools:Rancher
• Monitoring & observability:Grafana
• APIs and system integration technologies

Working Environment

• Hybrid SAP landscape (On-Prem + Cloud)
• Global setup withdistributed teams across multiple time zones (“Follow the Sun”)
• Close collaboration with SAP Basis, infrastructure, and application teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• Strongdatabase understanding (mandatory)
• SAP HANA fundamentals (preferred)
• SolidSQL skills for system management and optimization
• Experience withSAP Basis operations (Associate level)
• Understanding ofSAP system architecture and dependencies

Automation & DevOps Skills

• Practical experience with:
  • Python scripting
  • Ansible / Terraform
  • Git-based workflows
  • CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge ofmodern infrastructure and cloud concepts
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools

Architecture & System Thinking

• Strongarchitecture understanding across SAP and infrastructure layers
• Ability to analyzecomplex system landscapes and dependencies
• Capability to bridge SAP Basis and automation domains as aSubject Matter Expert (SME)
