Lead Engineer – Automation Quality

About the Role

We’re looking for aLead Engineer – Automation Quality to drive our test automation strategy and help build scalable, reliable, and modern quality engineering solutions.

This is ahands-on technical leadership role where you’ll design automation frameworks, solve complex quality challenges, mentor engineers, influence engineering best practices, and partner with Development, DevOps, Product, and other teams. You’ll also have opportunities to exploreAI and emerging technologies to advance our automation capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead thedesign, development, and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks and strategies for complex applications.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Quality/Test Automation Engineers.

• Establish and championautomation standards, coding practices, and quality engineering best practices.

• Design and developAPI and UI automation usingJava, Karate, Selenium, JUnit, and TestNG.

• Evaluate automation tools and recommend solutions based on technical and business needs.

• Partner with Engineering, DevOps, Product, and other stakeholders to define automation goals and priorities.

• Integrate automated tests intoCI/CD pipelines and improve continuous testing throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

• Define and monitorautomation metrics and KPIs to measure coverage, reliability, and effectiveness.

• Drive continuous improvement and innovation across automation processes, frameworks, and tools, including opportunities to leverageAI.

• Create technical documentation and training materials and deliver training on automation tools, frameworks, and best practices.

• Serve as asubject matter expert and provide technical guidance, direction, and prioritization to the team.

• Remain hands-on with automation development, troubleshooting, andmanual/exploratory testing when needed.

What You’ll Bring

• 7–10 years of software testing/quality engineering experience, including4–5 years of hands-on automation testing experience or equivalent automation training.

• Proven experienceleading technical automation initiatives and mentoring engineers.

• Strong hands-on programming skills inJava, including Core Java concepts.

• Extensive experience with test automation frameworks and tools, including:

  • API Automation: Karate

  • UI Automation: Selenium

  • Testing Frameworks: JUnit and TestNG

• Strong understanding ofCI/CD processes and tools and experience integrating automated tests into delivery pipelines.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

• Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Nice to Have

• Performance testing experience withJMeter and/or LoadRunner.

• Experience working in anAWS cloud environment.

• Knowledge ofDocker and Kubernetes.

• Experience or interest inAI-driven testing and intelligent automation.
