Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) Trader
We are seeking a skilledFTR trader to join our expanding power markets team inCalifornia/Bay Area. This role involves actively trading congestion products across several ISO/RTO markets, performingmarket research, and developingdata-driven trading strategies.
You’ll work closely with other traders and analysts to identify opportunities, manage risk, and enhance our existing strategy framework. Collaboration with different trading groups within the firm is encouraged, providing exposure to a wide range of energy market activities.
We’re looking for someone who combines deep knowledge ofFTR and congestion markets with curiosity and a hands-on mindset. You should be excited to analyze market dynamics, refine trade ideas, and guide junior members of the desk.

Requirement:
Hands-on experience (around2+ years) inFTR trading, congestion analysis, or comparable power market roles involving ISO/RTO products.
Solid grasp ofmarket design, grid operations, and transmission dynamics across multiple U.S. power markets.
Strongtechnical toolkit – proficient inPython for research and data engineering, comfortable working inGit-based environments for collaborative development.
Proven record ofbuilding, testing, and refining trading strategies through full lifecycle: ideation → modeling → risk assessment → post-trade review.
Adept withstatistical reasoning and quantitative methods; uses probability, regression, and optimization techniques to evaluate risk and discover inefficiencies.
Exceptionallydetail-oriented and disciplined — able to manage simultaneous workflows and deliver consistent results under time pressure.
Enjoys working with data, exploring new patterns, and maintaining rigorous model validation habits.
Strongcommunication skills; able to explain technical findings clearly and coordinate with traders, analysts, and technology teams.
Self-driven and intellectually curious — thrives in unstructured environments, quick to learn new tools and adapt to changing market conditions.
