About the Role

Platform Science is seeking a highly skilledSenior Software Engineer to join ourOrion (Fleet Management System) department in Chennai. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our cloud-native full-stack development efforts, designingand deploying robust, high-performance software for high-velocityfleet solutions. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work with an innovative mindset to solve complex problems and ensurethe successful delivery of projects that impact the global transportation industry.

Essential Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications usingNode.js, Vue.js, React.js, and TypeScript, ensuring maximum performance across a variety of web-capable devices.

• API & Backend Architecture: Create efficient internal and external APIs and develop optimized database schemas for both RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (ElasticSearch) environments.

• Cloud & Infrastructure: Deploy and manage applications onAWS, leveragingDocker andKubernetes to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

• Quality Engineering: Write clean, modular, and testable code; conduct thorough unit, integration, and performance testing (using frameworks likeJest or Enzyme) to ensure software reliability.

• Collaborative Innovation: Partner with Product Managers and Architects to translate requirements into technical specifications while automatingCI/CD pipelines alongside the DevOps team.

Experience

Required Experience

• 4+ years of professional experience in software development with a heavy focus onNode.js, Vue.js, and React.js.

• Strong proficiency inTypeScript and modern frontend build tools (e.g., Webpack).

• Solid understanding ofMicroservices architecture and event-driven design patterns (e.g.,Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• Hands-on experience withAWS and cloud deployment methodologies.

• In-depth knowledge of database management (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, or ElasticSearch).

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React state management libraries (e.g.,Redux).

• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Experience with Agile tools likeJira or Rally.
