Liquid Personnel is recruiting anAdult'sSocial Worker to join its client’sMental Healthteam, based in Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to support adults experiencing complex mental health needs, delivering strengths-based and person-centred interventions that promote independence, recovery, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will work closely with individuals, families, carers, health professionals, and partner agencies to assess needs, develop effective support plans, and ensure that people receive the right support at the right time. You will play a key role in empowering individuals to maintain control over their lives whilst applying professional judgement, safeguarding responsibilities, and statutory social work duties within a busy multidisciplinary environment.

This role requires a confident Social Worker who can manage a varied caseload, undertake complex assessments, and support individuals through challenging circumstances while ensuring their rights, choices, strengths, and aspirations remain at the centre of all interventions.

What will your responsibilities be? 

  • Managing a caseload of adults with complex mental health needs, ensuring high-quality and outcome-focused interventions.
  • Undertaking strengths-based assessments, reviews, and reassessments in accordance with statutory responsibilities and best practice guidance.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing person-centred Care and Support Plans that promote recovery, independence, and wellbeing.
  • Supporting adults experiencing mental health difficulties to access appropriate services, resources, and community-based support.
  • Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments and contributing to Best Interest decision-making in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Completing safeguarding enquiries and interventions, ensuring adults are protected from abuse, neglect, self-neglect, and exploitation.
  • Assessing and managing risk appropriately whilst supporting positive risk-taking and individual choice.
  • Working collaboratively with health professionals, social care colleagues, carers, families, housing services, and partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.
  • Promoting strengths-based practice and supporting individuals to maximise independence and improve their quality of life.
  • Applying relevant legislation, professional standards, and social work values to support effective decision-making and practice.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings, safeguarding discussions, reviews, and case conferences.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely, and legally compliant records, assessments, reports, and support plans.
  • Contributing to service development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

To be successful in this role you must have;  

  • Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience: Significant post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care or Mental Health Services.
  • Mental Health Experience: Experience supporting adults with complex mental health needs and working within multidisciplinary environments.
  • Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Adult Safeguarding legislation, Mental Health Act 1983, and associated statutory guidance.
  • Assessment Skills: Proven ability to undertake strengths-based assessments, reviews, support planning, safeguarding enquiries, and risk management interventions.
  • Safeguarding Experience: Experience undertaking safeguarding enquiries and managing complex safeguarding concerns.
  • Multi-Agency Working: Strong experience working collaboratively with health professionals, community services, carers, families, and partner agencies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, report-writing, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Professional Practice: Commitment to strengths-based, person-centred practice and continuous professional development.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively within a busy Mental Health Team.
