Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Deputy Manager for our client's Children's Residential Team in Cavan.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to support young people living in a residential care setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes safety, stability, emotional wellbeing, and positive outcomes. You will play a key role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment, helping young people to thrive and achieve their full potential.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Manage the residential centre to provide a safe, caring and stable environment for children and young people, in line with policies, national standards and relevant legislation.
  • Ensure Care and Placement Plans are developed, implemented, regularly reviewed and accurately recorded for each young person.
  • Promote and safeguard the rights, welfare, development and individual needs of young people, working closely with families, staff and external agencies.
  • Manage, supervise and support staff, including arranging rosters, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix, maintaining staff records and identifying training and development needs.
  • Provide leadership and decision-making while on shift, taking overall responsibility for the centre in the Centre Manager’s absence and acting up as Centre Manager when required.
  • Manage the centre’s budget and resources, ensuring expenditure remains within agreed limits, records are maintained and resources are used effectively.
  • Oversee the maintenance, upkeep and safety of the centre, including vehicles and equipment, fire safety, health and safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Prepare reports, statistics and professional documentation, and participate in case management, strategy and other meetings relating to the care and development of young people.
  • Ensure effective day-to-day administration, including incident reporting, financial accountability, team meetings, supervision and communication with senior management.
  • Maintain professional standards through ongoing training, supervision and knowledge of legislation and childcare practice, while participating in the centre’s on-call rota and supporting household activities as required.

Benefits:

  • €44,000 - €55,000
  • Annual 3% increase on salary

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have, 

  • QQI Level 7 in Social Care (or equivalent) 
  • A full, clean drivers’ licence, valid in Ireland
  • Knowledge of the National Standards in Children’s Residential Centres and Children’s First.
