Java R&D Software Engineer - Leuven

Summary

We are looking for a passionateJava Software Engineer with a strong interest insoftware security and low-level software engineering to join our R&D team in Leuven, working on our Java based products, such asProGuard and DexGuard.

Our technology processes and transforms Java and Android applications using techniques such asbytecode analysis, obfuscation, optimization, encryption, and code hardening to make applications smaller, faster, and more resilient against reverse engineering and tampering.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical problems, working with challenging codebases, and experimenting with new ideas. You’ll have the opportunity to research newoptimization and code hardening techniques and turn promising concepts into production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve ourJava-based technology, including ProGuard and DexGuard.
• Research, test, and implement newcode hardening techniques.
• Work withJava bytecode, obfuscation, encryption, and application processing.
• Continuously improve code quality through extensive testing.
• Stay up-to-date withreverse engineering and software security practices.
• Support customers with complex technical questions related to our software.

Profile

• Master's degree inComputer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Ideally2 to 3 years of experience in a similar software engineering role.
• ExcellentJava & Kotlin skills.
• Experience working withcomplex codebases.
• Interest inlow-level programming, debugging, and software security.

Useful Skills

• Knowledge ofcompiler technology, Java bytecode, or complex application processing.
• Knowledge ofobfuscation, optimization, or software protection techniques.
• Experience withreverse engineering and related tools.
• Familiarity withAndroid, Gradle, or ProGuard.
• Knowledge ofinformation or application security.
