DRW is a diversified trading firm with over 3 decades of experience bringing sophisticated technology and exceptional people together to operate in markets around the world. We value autonomy and the ability to quickly pivot to capture opportunities, so we operate using our own capital and trading at our own risk.

Headquartered in Chicago with offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, we trade a variety of asset classes including Fixed Income, ETFs, Equities, FX, Commodities and Energy across all major global markets. We have also leveraged our expertise and technology to expand into three non-traditional strategies: real estate, venture capital and cryptoassets.

We operate with respect, curiosity and open minds. The people who thrive here share our belief that it’s not just what we do that matters–it's how we do it.DRW is a place of high expectations, integrity, innovation and a willingness to challenge consensus.

As aSenior Atlassian Engineer, you will develop and manage our Atlassian platform (Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence) and its integrations, and help business units adopt it into their processes. The role balances deep technical and workflow expertise with strong communication skills. You’ll run the platform like an internal product, not a ticketing system: owning outcomes, modernizing how DRW works, and leading the adoption of AI-native workflows across the firm.

You’ll be right at home if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator, Developer, Architect or similar role, supporting Jira, JSM, and Confluence in an enterprise, multi-team environment.
  • Deep Jira development expertise, from custom workflows to advanced scripting, ideally in an Agile environment.
  • Experience administering and supporting Confluence, including spaces, permissions, templates, and apps.
  • Experience migrating Jira and Confluence from Data Center to Cloud, including planning, data validation, and cutover, is a must.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira Service Management (JSM) and ITSM best practices, including designing and configuring complex service desk workflows.
  • Experience building HR and enterprise service workflows in JSM, such as onboarding, offboarding, access requests, and employee case management.
  • Experience designing and managing Jira Assets (CMDB), including object schemas, data imports and integrations, and linking assets to service requests and workflows, is a plus.
  • Experience with third-party integrations (e.g., Slack, SharePoint, Exalate) and building custom ones using REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Zapier); scripting in Python, Groovy, or JavaScript is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable with Git, sandbox-to-production promotion, testing, and change management in a controlled environment.
  • Hands-on experience building with AI-native tools, such as Rovo, Claude, MCP servers, agent frameworks, and prompt-based workflows, to automate business processes. Practical grasp of AI guardrails such as permissions, data security, and monitoring.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical teams, consultants, and business stakeholders.
  • Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-120 Jira Administrator, ACP-620 Jira Service Management, ACP-420 Confluence Administrator) are highly preferred.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

What you’ll be working on:

  • Platform Administration: Full support of our Jira and Confluence environments end to end, setting governance and configuration standards that keep the platform scalable and easy to use.
  • Cloud Migration: Help deliver our Data Center to Cloud migration, from planning through cutover, with minimal business disruption.
  • Service Management: Build and optimize JSM service desks, Assets (CMDB), and HR workflows (e.g., onboarding, offboarding, case management), streamlining request types, SLAs, and routing so employees get fast, predictable service.
  • System Integrations: Design and maintain integrations between Atlassian and adjacent business systems (e.g., Slack, HR platforms, identity providers) so data flows reliably and teams avoid duplicate work.
  • Platform Health & Hygiene: Own monitoring, auditing, and data hygiene practices so the platform stays performant, compliant, and audit-ready.
  • Automation & Self-Service: Drive automation and self-service that measurably cuts manual effort, improves the user experience, and scales support without adding headcount.
  • AI Enablement: Drive AI adoption on the platform by building and deploying agents, connectors, and prompt-based workflows (e.g., Rovo, Claude, MCP servers) that automate triage, knowledge retrieval, and routine requests, with the guardrails a regulated environment requires.
  • Platform Roadmap: Identify opportunities to modernize internal processes and adopt new Atlassian capabilities, and help shape the platform roadmap with IT leadership.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with teams across DRW to understand their needs, align on common processes, and deliver secure, tailored Atlassian solutions.
  • Consultant Management: Partner with external Atlassian consultants to ensure deliverables meet business requirements and deadlines.

The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 USD to $200,000 USD depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, DRW offers a comprehensive suite of employee benefits including group medical, pharmacy, dental and vision insurance, 401k (with discretionary employer match), short and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance, health savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts.
