JOB SUMMARY:
The Groups & Care Directorprovides leadership, direction, and oversight for the Groups & Care ministry at the Royal Palm Beach campus. This individual shepherds and leads the campus Groups & Care staff, group leaders, class facilitators, coaches, and volunteer teams while cultivating a healthy culture of spiritual growth, prayer, care, leadership development, and group multiplication.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate one or more of the following spiritual gifts: leadership, discernment, exhortation, teaching, and pastor/shepherd.
JOB DUTIES:
Invite and Resource Leaders
- Execute the Central Groups & Care vision and strategy while championing Groups and biblical community across all campus ministries.
- Continually invite, develop, and resource Group Leaders, Coaches, Class Facilitators, Celebrate Recovery leaders, Prayer Team members, and Care volunteers.
- Maintain sufficient open Groups across key demographics by developing new leaders, identifying co-leaders, and creating opportunities for healthy multiplication.
- Facilitate New Leader Orientation, Leader Interest Meetings, and other training opportunities to equip leaders for ministry.
Coach and Shepherd Leaders
- Develop and support Coaches who equip, encourage, pray for, and provide ongoing care for leaders.
- Monitor Group and leader health, providing encouragement, support, and appropriate follow-up when concerns arise.
- Facilitate regular Leader Community opportunities while helping leaders identify and develop co-leaders and multiply healthy Groups.
Provide Care
- Lead and support Celebrate Recovery, Prayer Teams, and benevolence, and develop volunteers to help care for people.
- Provide triage counseling, prayer, and other support as needed.
- Officiate weddings and funerals and support weekend ministry as requested.
Lead and Administer the Department
- Work with the Campus Pastor and central team to establish and execute semester Groups & Care goals and lead the campus Groups & Care team with clear direction, accountability, encouragement, and development.
- Lead the day-to-day execution of Groups, Classes, Care, Celebrate Recovery, and Prayer in partnership with Central Groups & Care and campus teams.
- Maintain accurate ministry information in the relationship management system (ROCK) and on the Christ Fellowship website while monitoring and reporting key Groups & Care goals and measurables.
- Manage the campus Groups & Care budget and ensure ministry resources are stewarded effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
The Groups & Care Director should:
- Demonstrate a growing and mature relationship with Jesus Christ and model Christ Fellowship’s mission, values, and leader values.
- Be a relational people bringer with a heart for connecting, shepherding, recruiting, and developing people and volunteer leaders.
- Communicate biblical truth clearly while demonstrating wisdom, discernment, compassion, and discretion in care situations.
- Build healthy relationships and collaborate effectively with staff, leaders, Coaches, and volunteers.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, initiative, follow-through, and comfort with church-management and web-based systems.
- Be willing to maintain a schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
- 4-6 years of ministry-related experience, including experience recruiting, developing, and leading volunteer teams.
