Manager of Indirect Procurement (m/f/d)

Mission Brief 

The Manager of Indirect Procurementwill lead the indirect procurementarea and manage a small team of buyers, whileremaining actively involved inthehands-onmanagement ofselected categories.Together, the team covers a broad range of indirect spend, including transportservices, facility-related services, professional services, tools, equipment,trainingsand other operational support categories.This position combines people leadership, stakeholder engagement, and category management to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant procurement support for the business. 

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Lead, support, and develop a small team of buyers,ensuring clear priorities,effective workload management, andstrong day-to-day procurementsupport., POQ
• Oversee the team’sindirectcategory scope, covering areas such as transport services, facility-related services, professional services, tools,ITequipment, and other operational supportcategories.
• Take direct ownership of selected categories, managing sourcing activities, supplier relationships, and commercial topics hands-on where required.
• Developand implementsourcing andcategory strategiesthat balance cost, quality, service,risk, and businessneeds.
• Manage sourcing processes, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, supplierevaluations, negotiations, and contractawards.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring competitive pricing, reliable service levels, and continuous supplier performance improvement. Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, align priorities, and ensure procurementsolutionssupportoperational and strategic goals.
• Drive savings, cost avoidance, process improvements, supplier performance, and procurement KPIs.
• Ensureprocurement activities comply withinternal policies, approvalprocesses, contractual requirements, andapplicable regulatory standards. 

Qualification Checklist 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, orarelated field.
• Several yearsofprocurement experience, witha strong focus on indirect procurement and category management.
• Experienceleading, coordinating, or mentoring buyers, project teams, or cross-functional procurement activities.
• Proven experiencemanaging indirect categories such as transport services, facility-related services, professional services, tools,ITequipment, orcomparable operational spend areas.
• Experience in aerospace,manufacturing,defense,oranotherregulated industryis an advantage.
• People leadership skills with the ability to set priorities, guideothers, and support team development.
• Strong understanding of indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, and category management.
• Hands-onapproach with the ability toindependentlymanage categoriesand deliver results.
• Strong negotiation,contract management, supplier management, and commercial skills.
• Good understanding ofprocurement governance,supplier risk,andcompliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking,stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• Professional procurementcertification,such asCIPS or CPSM, is a plus.
