Senior Compliance Program Manager – Compliance Officer, France  

Location: Paris  

We are looking for a motivated and experiencedSenior Compliance Program Manager who will act asConvera’s Compliance Officer for its French operations.  

In this role, you will help promote a strong compliance culture across Convera by ensuring that an effective compliance program is in place, enabling employees to make informed, risk-based decisions as they execute their business plans.  

This is a high-impact, hands-on role within Convera’s Markets Compliance Compliance function. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically implementing the Markets Compliance program, identifying and managing market conduct and financial crime risks, and partnering closely with Convera’s leadership team.  

Responsibilities  

• Execute all responsibilities associated with serving as theCompliance Officer for Convera’s French operations, including responsibilities relating to principally MIFID, followed by a lesser degree to AML/CFT, financial crime and sanctions matters.  

• Be responsible, directly or through appropriate delegation, for Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) decisionsand serve as a primary point of contact for relevant French regulatory and supervisory authorities for allMIFID activities in relation to the FX derivative business.  

• Ensure all regulatory reporting relating to Markets Compliance is completed accurately and within applicable deadlines.  

• Ensure MiFID, AML/CFT and financial crime risks are appropriately identified, documented, escalated and reported to senior leadership.  

• Provide advice and guidance on Compliance policies, new products, business initiatives and expansion plans in relation to fx derivative activites covering fx forwards and fx options.  

• Provide effective oversight of outsourced Markets Compliance activities.  

• Direct and oversee the monitoring and testing of key Markets Compliance controls.  

• Track relevant regulatory developments and direct the implementation of required regulatory changes.  

• Manage and support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and inspections.  

• Participate with senior management in establishing strategic plans and objectives. Effectively cascade functional strategy and contribute to the development of organizational policies.  

• Work on complex Markets Compliance where issues may not be clearly defined and require significant judgment. Translate business strategy into functional Compliance plans and guide their execution including support in drafting associated policies and procedures.  

• Contribute to the development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for Compliance projects, programs and processes.  

• Make decisions that may have a significant long-term impact on the effectiveness and success of the Compliance function and wider organization.  

• Interact with senior management, executives, regulators and key stakeholders on matters of significance to the organization. Reconcile multiple stakeholder perspectives while maintaining effective regulatory and Compliance standards.  

• Act as an escalation point and, where appropriate, final decision-maker for Markets Compliance matters within the scope of the role.  

Required Qualifications  

• Minimum8 years of relevant professional experience, including at least2 years of prior experience as a Compliance Officer or in a comparable senior Compliance role, together with a relevant bachelor’s degree; aLaw degree is preferred.  

• Advanced knowledge of theFrench and applicable European regulatory environment relating to markets and investment services, with experience engaging with relevant regulatory and supervisory authorities.  

• Knowledge of and experience with domestic and international fx derivative and payment products (although not essential) ;fintech experience is preferred.  

• Demonstrated ability to advise senior business leadership and Board members on markets compliance matters.  

• Ability to resolve and advise on markets compliance complex issues requiring in-depth analysis and evaluation of multiple factors, often within demanding timeframes.  

• Ability to apply established Compliance principles while contributing to the development of new policies and approaches in response to regulatory developments, evolving market practices and emerging risks.  

• Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders, including stakeholders outside the candidate’s immediate area of expertise.  

• Strong written and verbal communication skills appropriate for engagement with senior leadership, regulators and other key stakeholders.  

Preferred Qualifications  

The following qualifications are advantageous but not required:  

• Certified MIFID related qualification or another relevant financial crime or Compliance certification.  

• Previous experience within the banking, payments, fintech, foreign exchange or broader financial services sector.  

• Experience operating in an international or multinational Compliance environment.
