Santander Consumer Finance focuses on business development related to consumer finance products, sales channels and commercial agreements with dealers, vehicle manufacturers or retail distribution establishments, as well as commercial functions associated with direct sales (branches, callcenters or digital channels) and indirect sales (through third parties) of consumer finance products.

Santander Auto Software is a fully remote software team within the Auto-Finance Domainof Santander. Working with ownership and autonomy,we’ve built from scratch, a state-of-the-art global software platform and product suite that is being rolled out across Europe. The business is 100% enabled by modern software technology and the organisation is comprised of skilled software builders distributed across Europe.

We are looking for skilledback end focused software engineers with experience working with Java & Kotlin, along with Spring Boot, Kubernetes and AWS, who have experience working in a software on demand production environment. You will build Cloud-native, AWS-based, greenfield software and will have time and support to invent solutions to a wide variety of user, business, and technical challenges. We have no cut-and-paste roles and neither will your software be of the cut-and-paste (or integrate and configure) variety. We operate a 'build it and own it' culture, and so you will have a DevOps and individual contributor mindset  

These will be key hires for back-end building squads and help shape this area of the business for scale and be a key member of a fast-growing global team!  

• Software development in Java (Spring Boot) & Kotlin - design, build, and deploy  

• Production deployment experience working with AWS  

• Experience with automated build and test systems for CI/CD (using Docker, Jenkins, etc)  

• Experienced in true Agile and its engineering practices with a true DevOps mindset

Professional Experience  

• Back-end Development with Javaand Kotlin  

• Fluent in English  

• Able to deal with ambiguity and change.  

• A self-starter who's able to work independently where necessary, without waiting for others. A strong sense of ownership is key to the way we work.  

• Strong communication skills.  

Education 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience.
