Jira Architect

• Provide strategic and tactical guidance, advisory and governance support services for Woodside’s Atlassian Platform Ecosystem
• Work closely with Atlassian Platform Owner to assist in strategy development, and prioritisation and implementation of objectives pertaining to Atlassian Platform
• Implement the governance of the Atlassian Platform service including:
• Platform health and assurance analytics
• Service/process design related to platform governance
• Perform technical investigations, codification and communication of best practices
• Liaison with related service lines (eg Cybersecurity, Architects, Information governance, etc) to ensure the Atlassian Platform meets corporate quality, security and reliability standards
• Future roadmap envisioning and initiative prioritisation (including liaison with Atlassian, as well as related service providers)
• Provide strategic and architectural guidance
• Working with Atlassian Platform Owner to review/improve delivery processes
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to support team, developers, mentoring and ensuring high quality products
• Work with developers (and developers from related service lines) to define repeatable pat[1]terns, practices and tools
• Provide architectural and integration advisory services to related service lines

• JIRA Data Center architecture
• Plugins and customisations including use of ScriptRunner
• Governing Jira Data Center
• Migration of workloads from Jira Data Center to Jira Cloud
• Jira Cloud architectures and configurations and deployment for an Enterprise

• Mandatory skills JIRA & Confluence Datacenter, Jira & Confluence Cloud Administration, JQL , Groovy Scripting, AWS EC2, S3, RDS, SQL
• Atlassian Certified Expert (JIRA & Confluence Administration).

Required:

• Expertise in JIRA Software, JIRA Service Management, and JIRA Core.
• Advanced configuration of workflows, schemes, permissions, and notifications.
• Custom field creation and screen schemes management.
• JIRA automation rules and scripting (e.g., using ScriptRunner, JMWE, or similar plugins).
• Performance tuning and scalability planning for large JIRA instances.

• Space and page hierarchy design for optimal knowledge management.
• Advanced permission schemes and security configurations.
• Template creation and customization for documentation standards.
• Integration with JIRA for seamless project tracking and documentation
• Integration & API Skills
• REST API knowledge for JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience integrating Atlassian tools with third-party systems (CI/CD tools, Slack, MS Teams, etc.).
• Familiarity with Atlassian Connect and Forge for custom app development.

• Understanding of underlying databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL) for JIRA/Confluence.
• Knowledge of server vs. Data Center vs. Cloud deployments.
• Experience with Atlassian Data Center clustering and load balancing.
• Backup and disaster recovery strategies.

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Ability to design workflows aligned with organizational processes.

• Configure Atlassian Access, SSO, and SCIM for user management.
• Ensure compliance with data residency, security standards, and governance policies.
• Use Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistants for Jira and Confluence.
• Validate data integrity, app compatibility, and set up post-migration support and governance.
