Role overview

We are looking foron-site freelance linguists to supportgame localization and linguistic QA fromEnglish into French / Spanish (Spain) / Spanish (LATAM). You will translate, revise, and perform LQA to ensure our game content is linguistically accurate, consistent, and culturally resonant for target players. You will work closely with developers and Localization Project Managers in a cross-functional environment.

What you will do

• Translatein-game content,UI strings,narrative text, andmarketing materials from English into the target language (FR / ES-ES / ES-LATAM).

• Edit/revise localized content to ensure accuracy, fluency, terminology consistency, and style-guide compliance.

• ConductLinguistic Quality Assurance (LQA): identify, fix, and/or report issues such as grammar, spelling, punctuation, mistranslations, context inconsistencies, and UI constraints (e.g., truncation/length).

• Maintain the intended tone and voice while adapting for cultural differences and audience expectations.

• Provide linguistic and cultural input in creative/narrative discussions when needed.

• Coordinate with Localization PMs to meet timelines, manage deliverables, and maintain linguistic assets (glossaries, style guides, references).

What we are looking for

• Native-level proficiency inFrench orSpanish (Spain) orSpanish (LATAM) (please specify in your application) and fluent English.

• 2+ years of professional experience ingame localization for the relevant language pair(s).

• Strong knowledge of target-market culture and the ability to localize creatively (not literal translation).

• Familiarity with localization tools and workflows (CAT tools, TMS/CMS).

• Excellent attention to detail and strong quality mindset.

• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Passion for gaming; familiarity with mobile gaming trends is a plus.

• Degree in Translation/Linguistics or a related field is a plus.

Engagement details

• Contract type: Freelance (Independent Contractor Agreement, ICA)

• Duration: 3 months (high possibility of extension)

• Working hours: APAC core business hours,Mon–Fri, 8 hours/day

• Work setup:On-site — Danling Street, Haidian District, Beijing, China

• Start date: ASAP
