Client currently uses JDE Accounts Receivable to maintain tenant receivable balances and invoice numbers; however, much of the tenant billing process remains dependent on manual Excel calculations and externally prepared invoices. This creates duplicate processing, manual reconciliation, limited auditability, and a risk of inconsistencies between tenant invoices and the JDE customer ledger.

The assessment identified an opportunity to move tenant billing toward a controlled, JDE-generated process. JDE Real Estate Management, Billing, and Accounts Receivable should be evaluated and configured to support recurring rent, expense participation and tenant recoveries, maintenance-related charges, tenant statements, and receivables processing. External Excel processes should be reviewed to determine which activities can be replaced by standard JDE functionality, reporting, and approved integrations.

The recommended approach is to assess and rationalize the current JDE configuration; validate master data, AAIs, billing codes, building constants, lease and tenant setup; and test the proposed process in a lower environment before production deployment. The target state is for JDE to serve as the system of record for tenant billing and receivables, reducing manual effort while strengthening billing accuracy, financial controls, reporting, and auditability.
