Java Developer (Production Support)

Position Title:Java Developer
Location:Orlando, FL US (Onsite)
Duration:Long Term Contract
 
Role and responsibilities:
Production support role monitoring and troubleshooting multiple custom-built Java, Spring Boot applications hosted on AWS. Working shifts (12:00 PM - 8:00 PM EST) require at least twice a week, with availability to work on Saturdays and Sundays.
 
Job description:
The Java Developer will be responsible for providing production support for Java and Spring Boot applications. The role involves monitoring and troubleshooting applications hosted on AWS, managing incidents and problem tickets, and working directly with clients to resolve issues. The candidate must be comfortable working with various tools and technologies, including Splunk, AppDynamics, AWS CloudWatch, RESTful web services, Apache Tomcat, MySQL, RabbitMQ, and Git.
 
Required Skills:

• 2 years of experience in Java, Spring Boot applications development, object-oriented analysis and design, and the full software development lifecycle
• Good knowledge of Python
• Solid investigative skills in tracking down functional and performance issues using Splunk, AppDynamics, and AWS CloudWatch
• Experience monitoring applications in AWS environments, including Amazon Web Services (EC2, Lambda, ECS, RDS, Redis)
• Comfortable working with RESTful web services, Apache Tomcat, MySQL, RabbitMQ, and Git
• Experience managing incidents and problem tickets within ServiceNow
• Strong communication skills with experience working directly with clients
• Hands-on practice using AI coding tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot

• Experience in L2/L3 production support roles
