| Job Description | Senior Software Engineer – Core Java & Apache Spark Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer – Core Java & Apache Spark to design, develop, and scale high-performance data processing and application infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, JVM internals, Apache Spark, Spring Boot, distributed systems, databases, and cloud-native technologies. This role involves working on mission-critical systems that process large-scale datasets while ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and reliability. The candidate will also contribute to architecture and design decisions, performance optimization, code quality, technical leadership, and mentoring of junior engineers. Key Responsibilities Design and develop high-throughput, low-latency applications and data processing pipelines using Java, Spring, and Apache Spark. Develop, deploy, and optimize large-scale Apache Spark applications using RDDs, Spark SQL, DataFrames, and Datasets. Analyze and optimize JVM performance, including memory management, garbage collection, thread utilization, and application profiling. Design and implement scalable and resilient distributed systems and microservices. Build cloud-native applications and deploy them using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift. Apply software engineering best practices including SOLID principles, design patterns, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Test-Driven Development (TDD). Design and optimize relational database schemas, SQL queries, indexes, transactions, and data access strategies. Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and/or graph databases for scalable data storage and retrieval. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Java applications and Spark workloads using Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and Git. Troubleshoot complex production issues related to application performance, memory utilization, concurrency, distributed processing, and data quality. Conduct technical design and code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards. Collaborate with architects, product teams, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing. Evaluate and introduce modern technologies, tools, and architectural patterns where appropriate. |
