Java Backend Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilledBackend Engineer to support large-scale, high-performance backend services for the Apple account at Infosys. The ideal candidate has strong experience building scalable APIs, distributed backend systems, cloud-native components, and data-driven services. This role requires excellent coding skills, deep understanding of backend architecture, and experience working in fast-paced enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintainRESTful and GraphQL APIs, backend services, and microservices.
• Develop highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant backend systems.
• Work closely with product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and Apple engineering teams.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, and service reliability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud deployments.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code.
• Integrate internal and external services using APIs, messaging, and event-driven architecture.
• Conduct code reviews, architecture discussions, and contribute to best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.

Must-Have Technical Skills

• Strong experience inbackend programming using:
  • Node.js,Java,Go,Python, orScala (whichever aligns with Apple project needs)
• Deep experience buildingmicroservices and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge ofREST APIs, GraphQL (if applicable), and API security.
• Experience withSQL & NoSQL databases:
  • PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.
• Experience withcloud platforms (AWS preferred for Apple projects).
• Experience withCI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, etc.).
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) or serverless services.
• Strong fundamentals indata structures, algorithms, and system design.
