Asour newPrincipal Mine Permitting & NEPA Consultant, youwill play a pivotal role in guiding high‑profile natural resource and mining projects in Arizona and the Southwestern stateswith opportunities to expand acrossotherU.S. regions. Â
This is a senior, client-facing role whereyour strategic leadership on high-profile projectswill shape the future of responsible resource development. You’ll leverage your technical expertise and deep industry experience to influence regulators, engage stakeholders, and guide multi-disciplinary teams.Â
You will bring deep experience navigating complex federal and state regulatory frameworks to managemultidisciplinary regulatory projectsand guide major natural resource projects to successful approval. In addition, you will play a significant role in growing our mining business and our team of environmental professionals in the Southwest U.S. region. You will lead consulting projects for key mining clients, mentor rising talent, and foster a culture of quality and excellence.Â
The ideal candidate will:Â
Be a trusted advisor to the mining industry, as well as reputable working relationship with regulators and stakeholdersÂ
Possessstrong technical expertise in NEPA, permitting andcompliance for the mining industryÂ
Exhibit deep knowledge of the US federal and state specific environmental regulationsapplicable to the mining industryHave a proven and sustained record of successful business development, client relationship management, and proposal management for the mining industry with demonstrated sales growthÂ
Maintain a strong network of mining industry contacts, as well as other business contacts and potentialteam partners (e.g., legal, or analytical service providers) in the mining industryÂ
Collaborate with SLR mining sector leaders across the Americas and globally to develop cross-selling strategies, evaluate client needs and follow market changes to identify opportunities for growthÂ
Mentor, coach, and develop senior and junior staff across disciplines, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountabilityÂ
Represent SLR in public forums, regulatory hearings, and industry associationsÂ
Provide high-level project management oversight, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are consistently achievedÂ
Success in this role means establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to consultants, clients, and regulators, strengthening and growing SLR’sregulatory environment capabilities, driving business development,driving delivery,fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, and representing SLR as a thought leader in the industry.Â

The salary range for this position is$150,000-$250,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.Â

Qualifications/Education/Memberships:Â
​​Bachelor and/or Master of Science degree(s) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related fieldÂ
​Minimum of15 years’ experience withpermitting,compliance, and NEPA in the mining sector, including demonstrated success leading complex, multi-stakeholder projectsÂ
​Strong consulting experience, with proven ability to manage client relationships and grow business opportunitiesÂ
​Experience in delivering regulatory support to mining clientsÂ
​Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state environmental regulations and permitting requirements applicable to the mining industry, with strong experience in mine design and engineering integration into regulatory applicability, analysis and interpretationÂ
​Established reputation in the mining industry, with demonstrated credibility and visibility through regulatory engagement, client relationships, published work, conference participation, and/or industry association involvementÂ
​Demonstrated ability tolead,mentor and inspire technical teamsÂ
​Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and executive-level presentationÂ
​Strong written communication skills for high level of report writing and peer review capabilitiesÂ
​Professional Designation with appropriate Professional Organization​Â
