 Salary Range is $30.24-$46.88 per hour. $1.50 additional for ASCP Certification. 

Position Summary

Join our Laboratory Services team as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) and play a vital role in delivering accurate and timely diagnostic testing that supports exceptional patient care. In this role, you will perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing, maintain quality standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform authorized moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and procedures.

• Process, analyze, and report laboratory specimens accurately and efficiently.

• Follow laboratory protocols for specimen handling, testing, documentation, and record retention.

• Perform and document quality control, calibration, maintenance, and proficiency testing activities.

• Identify test system issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Maintain compliance with CLIA requirements and laboratory accreditation standards.

• Ensure accurate reporting of patient results and adherence to quality assurance practices.

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.

• Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

• Work independently while exercising sound judgment and seeking guidance when appropriate.

• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all laboratory safety standards. 

Qualifications

Education

One of the following is required:

• Bachelor's degree and completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology program, OR

• Bachelor's degree in a laboratory-related science such as Biology or Chemistry with relevant laboratory training or experience. 

Experience

• Minimum of one year of full-time clinical laboratory experience required.

Certification

• ASCP, ASCPi, AMT, MLS (ASCP), or equivalent nationally recognized Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification required. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Commitment to quality, accuracy, and patient safety.
